Gems of the Sky Our Galaxy is full of amazing sights. Nebulae, Planets, Black Holes and Comets fill the sky as we look towards the heavens on a dark and starry night. Stars, Moons and Asteroids abound in a sea of cosmic beauty that stretches for 100,000 light years across the Galaxy. Stephan's Quintet But all is not tranquil in this vast whirling mass of cosmic wonders, for there are exploding stars, Galaxies in collision and feverish star formation when densities and pressures are so great as to ignite thermo nuclear fires. The pleiades. Among it all are creatures that have evolved though the ages, brought together when planets are placed in a habitable zone and where pressures and densities activate the building blocks of life. On one of these a human species came to be, to ask questions of it's origin, It's place in the Universe, it's Star and it's planetary system, and of the Planet it's habitants call home.
