We have all seen images of the Shuttle at lift off, coming into land, and in flight, but never a view of flight deck controls showing our planet coming into view as the spacecraft returns to Earth. This is because all systems are electronic and the Shuttle can even land at night. Below is an artist's rendering depicting a view from flight deck controls as a spacecraft is nearing Earth. This is not the shuttle, nor it's flight deck, but is space art, and gives the viewer an insight as to what things may look like as Astronauts come home.
