Mars rover Curiosity Curiosity, the next Mars rover is scheduled to be launched in November and will be the most technologically advanced science mission ever to roam the Martian landscape. Curiosity's laser portal Curiosity is larger, faster, and more robust than the previous Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity, carries laser science technology and one of it's main features is a comprehensive soil sampling laboratory. Curiosity's soil sampler in action NASA has put together a stunning 12 minute long video of the complex landing mechanism as well as a run through of it's laser and soil sampling laboratory.
