The round trip This image portrays the planets in a round trip configuration and if you decided to make the journey, the world you once knew will be a totally different place by the time you arrive back. Distances from the Sun This image give you the mean distance that each planet is from the sum and shows that the outer planets are really at a considerable disatance from the Planet we call home. The Planets in relative size This image lets us see how insignificent we really are in relation to the other Planets in our Solar system. Our small size and closeness to the Sun portrays an interesting point here, for our technology is such that it only allows those searching for Exoplanets to discover Jupiter size objects. Those small planets close to the Sun, if any, are not large enough to give telltale signs of their presence by making the Star wobble or become dimmer on each Planetary orbit. So even if we have discovered Jupiter size planets in other Solar Systems, small ones close to the star like Earth could still be there. Jupiter Credits: Artwork & text by Glactus
