In our efforts to analyze the geographical features, the chemical composition and the search for those places where humans may one day set foot on the Red Planet, different space organizations have sent almost 40 spacecraft to Mars. These comprise both surface scientific laboratories, and orbital analyzers.
The proposed Marsbird, pictured below is a low level terrain laboratory capable of flying deep into the Valles Marineris viaduct, and all other chasms, sending back high resolution images from its state of the art instrumentation. Scientists are pushing for finance for this project.
The NASA Marsbird
Perhaps by the middle of this century we will see a spacecraft
arrive with the first Martian settlers, who will set up the first habitat, "Marsbase one."
Marsbase one
Preparation will see the arrival of the scientific modules that are designed to create a greenhouse effect and gradually change the Martian atmosphere, allow afforistation to flourish and water to flow once more over the surface of Mars.
The environmental laboratories
Though the decades of these environmental changes, the habitats will be expanding, more settlers will arrive, and we will see the first True Martians - Humans born on Mars.
The Martian settlement.
In centuries hense, Mars will be the second Earth with utra modern metropolis, the first human endevour into our Solar sytem and the first step in our journey to the stars.
