Hi All, it has been a long time since I was a member of Space-Talk.com, mainly because I had to sell my C10-NGT. Anyway, I now am back with a new scope, an Orion UK Europa 200 f8 on a EQ5 with Dual Axis Drives.
So there I was thinking I shall reregister at space-talk.com, but my email was still registered and I had to request my details to reactivate my membership.
This did not work, and I may be wrong but is Space-Talk.com now defunked?
And here I am.

I may be wrong but is Space-Talk.com now defunked? And here I am. Sorry to hear that you've had problems with the original site Simon. Yes, it's still there (here is your profile on there) but the email system doesn't seem to be working & I have just reported the matter to the site owner. Will let you know as & when I get a reply.

Thanks, Andy. So why the new site? Here is pic of my new 8" f8. I got it home today and just spent the night back with the stars...well, Saturn, Mars and the Beehive. I love it. For Orion UK's cheapest range, it sure is top. The whole rig cost me £300 off ebay. Europa 200 f8, EQ5 Mount, with Dual Axis Drives, 3 eyepieces, 25mm, 10mm, 6mm. 3 books on astronomy the guy did not want, and batteries and charger. It is good to be back. Now all I have to do is get some new bit and pieces, a couple of new barlows and 3 more eye pieces and find another old 35mm film canister to make collimator. Attachments:

Have a look at this thread Simon. Basically we thought the original site was a gonner & so I decided to create a new one. Then a few weeks later the original one reappeared 'out of the blue'!

Ah!, I see.
I must say though, it dose feel a little stagnant (not being rude) but, even though I can not log in at the moment, just by looking at the last post on...lets say telescopes, it is from 2009.
It feels a little ghost like. Glad to see though my 4 part review on the Celestron C10-NGT is still there to read.

Hi sbooder. When this site was first established I gave it some identity with the insertion of the Constellations. Since then I have inserted 270 posts covering all sections pertaining to the Universe. If anyone wishes to obtain a broad understanding of space and time and the structures that make up the Universe, login here for this is an educational site. I have always been one to fancy illustrations with my posts as they tell their own story and give the post some meaning. If you have anything that may be of interest to us please continue to use this site as we astronomers have an ever ending thirst for articles from which we may learn more about ourselves and our place in this grand vision of things.
